Need to get a Live Scan fingerprint background check? Creative Security can help. Our office is an authorized Live Scan location for California Department of Justice (DOJ) background checks. California requires all fingerprints to be performed by either law enforcement or a certified Live Scan operation, and we provide that convenience. Once your fingerprints are scanned, we’ll forward them to the DOJ, and they’ll be processed within 72 hours.
What do you need for your Live Scan appointment?
It’s easy to prepare for your Live Scan appointment. Make sure you fill out the Request for Live Scan Service form and bring it with you to the appointment. You’ll also need a few other items:
Trim Your Fingernails and Let Finger Injuries Heal
Extremely long fingernails can make scanning your entire fingerprint impossible, so be sure to trim them to a reasonable length. Likewise, finger injuries, such as burns or cuts, can make it impossible to get an accurate scan of your fingerprint. If we’re unable to get a sufficient scan, you’ll have to reschedule your appointment.
Bring a Government-Issued ID
In order to verify your identity, you’ll need to bring by a valid Government ID. Out-of-state identifications will qualify as long as they are current and qualified.
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid non-driver ID card
- Military ID
- US Passport
Bring an Accepted Form of Payment
We charge $21.00 plus applicable DOJ fees for a Live Scan appointment, and take all major forms of payment, including:
- Cash
- Check or money order
- Credit card
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. AmEx cards will incur a 3% service fee.
